Job Description

Own the process. Elevate the standard.

At Northeast Tool & Manufacturing, we push precision further. From our Matthews, NC facility, we’re growing our Engineering team with a CNC Programmer (Levels I–III) who transforms complex aerospace models into repeatable, efficient processes—backed by Mastercam programming, CIMCO probing, and Vericut validation.

Your Mission

Define the path from model to proven part on DMG Mori multi‑axis equipment cutting exotic alloys where accuracy, velocity, and surface integrity all matter. You’ll be the process architect and a go‑to resource for the shop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program horizontal/vertical mills and lathes in Mastercam for Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and more.
  • Study blueprints and models, select the most efficient operations, and continuously improve programs for aircraft and space engine components.
  • Verify motion and margins in Vericut and deploy CIMCO probing for in‑process control of critical dimensions.
  • Publish complete process documentation: setup sheets, tooling lists, critical dimension/control sheets, and manufacturing plans.
  • Design solutions with Manufacturing Engineering for workholding, custom tooling, and gauging to meet inspection requirements and schedule commitments.
  • Support the floor hands‑on—troubleshoot, correct, and keep conforming parts running.
  • Lead cost and cycle‑time reductions through new cutting/automation technologies with vendor partners.
  • Oversee returned tooling: evaluate, sharpen, and manage in the vending system.
  • Maintain accurate records of programming changes and engineering checklists.
  • Mentor Programming Technicians and CNC Programmer I/II; distribute workloads and review output as appropriate.
  • Champion continuous improvement; lead corrective actions and root cause analysis using fishbone and 5‑Why.
  • Represent Programming with Quality, Management, and Operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 3–8 years of multi‑axis CNC programming; simultaneous 5‑axis highly preferred.
  • GD&T strength; ASME Y14.5‑2018 foundational certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
  • 5‑axis setup and operation background.
  • Mastercam expertise (certification a plus) and SolidWorks proficiency.

Preferred

  • AS9100 experience.
  • Siemens and/or Fanuc controls; DMG Mori familiarity.
  • Advanced ASME Y14.5‑2018 certification.
  • Mastercam: Mill 2D, Mill 3D, Lathe, 4‑Axis; Multi‑Axis and/or Advanced Lathe preferred.
  • CSWA or CSWP.
  • Vericut experience.
  • Six Sigma (CSSYB or higher).

Compensation & Culture

Pay range: $80,000–$140,000, aligned to experience and level.

We’re an award‑winning, employee‑centric company where structured roles, clear responsibilities, and individualized development plans support your growth. Benefits include relocation assistance; 9 paid holidays (including your birthday); a 4% 401(k) match through Fidelity; education assistance; free coffee; and a top‑15% benefits plan with an on‑staff Nurse and Pharmacist. We also offer competitive pay; medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; a company‑matched 401(k) (Roth and Traditional); and a family, team‑focused work environment.
